"The substructure imitates the earth, just as does the
trunk of a tree, as that is where it emerges: the superstructure,
like the foliage and thinner branches, imitates the sun and
the 'love of life'.

to design details which were novel and finer than those of
the substructure, in the same way that the sun inexplicably
creates colorful and slightly zoomorphic flowers out of plants."
