"The reality of the 'building being' is only an image
in architecture. In this image, the potential of the existence
of a spirit of a higher order must be inherent. For me, this
potential is a problem of borders interpreted in a realistic
manner. It is an issue of the borders, between the world perceptible
by the senses and the world beyond the senses.
The words of vernacular architecture have lost their real
meanings, their technical and material meaning have changed
over the centuries... however the words have remained in the
living organism of the language. The words come together to
form a 'building being' on the boundaries of comprehension,
fantasy and reality to create a new reality."
